"Catastrophe and Caesura: Lacoue-Labarthe Today"

One of the most important philosophers of the 20th century, Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe is the world expert on historical trauma in relation to poetry, fiction and political myth-making. He was also an engaged theater director and renowned writer on/of poetry. To honor him and his work, Princeton University, Brown University, and several departments at New York University bring together top-notch scholars, thinkers, and poets from France and the US in what is bound to be a highly significant international event.
In collaboration with the Departments of French and German at NYU.
